stamped vase (or tumbler)

You've seen me do it w/ flowers on the interior of wood-fired bowls, & now you're seeing me do it on the exterior of this gas-fired vase -- I like to cut my own stamps, stamp out a design on a leather-hard pot, & then put a celadon glaze over the design.  This pot could happily be used as a large tumbler instead of a vase (it is of course food-safe), but be ready to sit back w/ a large drink!  It is 7.5" high & 4" in diameter.  As with all of my pots that are meant for your kitchen and table, it is food-, microwave-, and dishwasher-safe, though pots will last longest if you hand wash them.

salt-fired jar

The exterior of this salt-fired jar was vitrified by the salty atmosphere of the kiln (fired with pounds of literally the same table salt -- sodium chloride -- that we use on our food), & the interior is glazed w/ a grey-blue celadon.  I love the warm, satiny, orange-peel-like texture the salt gave the jar.  It is 6.5" in height & 7" in diameter.  As with all of my pots that are meant for your kitchen and table, it is food-, microwave-, and dishwasher-safe, though pots will last longest if you hand wash them.  You can read more about wood- and salt-firing here.

wood-fired vase

This curvy vase got some lovely flashing (the oranges brought about by the fire & atmosphere in the wood kiln) & melted ash on its lanky frame.  It was fired for 5 days in an anagama wood kiln in Nelson County, VA.  It is 10.5" h. x 4" w. x 4" d.  As with all of my pots that are meant for your kitchen and table, it is food-, microwave-, and dishwasher-safe, though pots will last longest if you hand wash them.  You can read more about wood- and salt-firing here.

Wood-fired jar with lots of melted ash

This jar was fired for four days in an anagama-style wood kiln in Amherst, VA, and it sat at the very front of the kiln, where it received gorgeous helpings of melted ash throughout the length of the firing. The jar is 8.5" high and 8" in diameter.   As with all of my pots that are meant for your kitchen and table, it is food-, microwave-, and dishwasher-safe, though pots will last longest if you hand wash them.  You can read more about wood- and salt-firing here.
