medium wood-fired globe vase

This globe vase was also fired for four days in an anagama-style wood kiln in Nelson County, VA, & the lovely marks on the surface are from firing it on its side & letting the ash & flame work around the refractory wads of clay that supported it. The vase is ~9" high and ~8" in diameter.   As with all of my pots that are meant for your kitchen and table, it is food-, microwave-, and dishwasher-safe, though pots will last longest if you hand wash them.  You can read more about wood- and salt-firing here.

storage jar w/ leather cord

This jar was also fired for four days in an anagama-style wood kiln in Nelson County, VA.  I imagined using it for storage or as a vase w/ the lid removed, & the leather cord (which is threaded through a small hold in each of the little knobs on the side & knotted in place) can easily slipped aside to remove the lid & slipped over the edge of the lid again when the lid is replaced.  The jar is ~10.5" high and ~4.5" in diameter.   As with all of my pots that are meant for your kitchen and table, it is food-, microwave-, and dishwasher-safe, though pots will last longest if you hand wash them.  You can read more about wood- and salt-firing here.

ash-covered shino jar

This jar too was fired in an anagama-style wood kiln in Nelson County, VA, and it also sat at the very front of the kiln.  As a result, it received a lot of melted ash, &, in this case, the grey of the ash makes a striking contrast to the orange of the shino glaze underneath it. The jar is ~5" high and ~6.5" in diameter.   As with all of my pots that are meant for your kitchen and table, it is food-, microwave-, and dishwasher-safe, though pots will last longest if you hand wash them.  You can read more about wood- and salt-firing here.
